THE three-time Grade 1 winner Dancing City graces the cover of the Goffs Arkle Sale catalogue which was released online this week.

Bought for just €28,000 at Goffs, Dancing City was among the very best and toughest novice hurdlers of last season, winning at the highest level at Leopardstown, Aintree and Punchestown. Other recent Grade 1 graduates include Captain Teague, Caldwell Potter, Jasmin De Vaux and Stellar Story.

This year’s Arkle Sale catalogue stretches to 701 lots, six fewer than last year. Part 1, which takes place on June 11th and 12th, contains 452 lots and there are 249 in Part 2 on June 13th.

The average price at Part last year was €52,224 and Part 2 averaged €19,725.

The 2024 catalogue features a half-sister to Ballyburn, another treble Grade 1-winning novice hurdler. There is also a half-brother to Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner Slade Steel on offer, and siblings to Stage Star, Good Land, Gaillard Du Mesnil, Jade De Grugy, City Island, Slate House, Franco Du Port, Romeo Coolio, Sandor Clegane, Ashdale Bob, Minella Melody, Macdermott, Gold Tweet, Yala Enki and Yorkhill.

Goffs’ CEO Henry Beeby said: “The Arkle Sale is the headline act in a vibrant new era for National Hunt at Goffs on both sides of the Irish Sea. A destination sale for so many owners and trainers, the Arkle atmosphere is like nowhere else, and, together with our luxury brand partner Defender, we look forward to welcoming everyone to Kildare Paddocks.”

All horses catalogued in Parts 1 and 2 are eligible for the €100,000 Goffs Defender Bumper at the 2025 Punchestown Festival where the winning vendor will also win a new Defender.
