THE recent ITBA Ask The Expert Series seminar on orthopaedic issues in foals and yearlings was given by Dr Wayne McIlwraith.

Dr McIlwraith is an internationally-recognised leader in the field of equine orthopaedic research and surgery, and has made many significant contributions to the industry and advancements with equine orthopaedics.

The seminar looked at various orthopaedic topics including developmental orthopaedic disease, research around OCDs, navigating sales repositories and radiographs, and looking at the new developments in recent years.

Dr McIlwraith presented exciting new radiograph research on subchondral lucencies of the medial femoral condyle.

The Ask The Expert Series continues on Wednesday, May 17th with a seminar on parasite control from the Irish Equine Centre’s Dr James Gibbons.
