A stunning performance from Cork’s Billy Twomey and Ardcolum Duke (ISH)(TIH) saw them win the CSI5* competition in Antwerp on Friday.

A total of 28 competitors from across the globe contested the title and the Irish pair produced one of only seven clear rounds, galloping home in a time of 60.47 seconds, almost two seconds clear of runner up Wilm Vermeir (BEL).

The Traditional Irish Sport Horse, bred and owned by Joe Flynn from Co. Roscommon, has now recorded four wins at 5* level after securing back-to-back victories at the CSI5*-W show in Zurich in February.

Twomey takes home over €8,000 in prize money after this penultimate day of showjumping action in Antwerp. The 5* showjumping action continues in Antwerp on Saturday with the Lebeau-Corally Grand Prix at 4.35pm GMT.

Breeding details: Ardcolum Duke (ISH)(TIH) – 2004 stallion by Gypsy Duke (ISH) out of Dangerous Lady (ISH), by Clover Hill (ID). Breeder/Owner: Joe Flynn, Co. Roscommon. Rider: Billy Twomey (IRL).
