Ballylinch Stud will sponsor the 1000 Guineas Trial Stakes at Leopardstown next Saturday, April 8th.

Now in its 32nd year, the race has thrown up classic winners such as Kooyonga, Virginia Waters, Homecoming Queen and, last year, Jet Setting defeated the classic placed Now Or Never and the four-time Group 1-winning Alice Springs.

Managing director of Ballylinch Stud John O’Connor said: "The 1000 Guineas Trial is a race that has time and time again produced top class race fillies and broodmares. Last year the card produced a Guineas and a dual Derby winner, while the 1000 Guineas Trial itself produced its fifth 1000 Guineas winner.

We also see it as a natural progression from the two-year old fillies maiden that we sponsor here on Champions Weekend and which, since our association with the race, has produced some outstanding performers including Diamondsandrubies, Bocca Baciata and Wedding Vow.”
