BOCCA Baciata is held in high regard by trainer Jessica Harrington and the €230,000 Goffs Orby Yearling Sale graduate advertised her classic potential when winning the Listed Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Salsabil Stakes in good style at Navan last Saturday.

She was beaten less than two lengths when fourth behind Together over a mile at the Curragh on her debut in August, was a length third over seven furlongs at Leopardstown several weeks later, and then won a mile Navan maiden on her final outing as a juvenile. Last Saturday’s success came over 10 furlongs and earned her quotes of around 20/1 for the Group 1 Investec Oaks, but Harrington indicated that the filly might drop back to a mile for next month’s Group 1 Irish 1000 Guineas.
