AT Mullingar Equestrian Centre, the Amateur ‘A’ Irish Farmers Journal series came to an exciting finale with seven of the 35 proceeding to the jump-off. Leading the victory lap was Laura Walshe and Ballinaguilkey Heritage when they lodged the winning clear in 38.16. Walshe was chased home by Katy Scott and Paeona Du Mesnil (39.24). Accounting for third place was Tara Fergus and Tirconaill River Rose (39.78). Breda Perrin and Erronagh Sky were fourth, clear in 42.87 ahead of Amy Wilson and Vagabond, clear in 45.52. In sixth was Nicola Walshe who recorded the fastest time of 36.93 aboard Cluainin Robb, but a pole down proved expensive.

The Waltzing Weasel Amateur Welcome Stakes saw a win for Kilkenny’s Gemma Drennan and God’s Gift, clear in 26.31. Mary Corcoran and Super Connected were second (28.41), while Joanna Hyland and Queen Lu maintained a clean sheet in 29.19 for third. Shane Broughal and Hello Miss Moneypenny were fourth (29.21) ahead of Gary Graham and Kilkfane Inspiritation (30.44). Completing the top-six line-up were Dani Murphy and Thornfield Dubh, clear in 30.52.
