THERE was a great turnout for the popular South Munster Dressage Show, held in the shadow of beautiful Claragh Mountain at Green Glens Arena, in Millstreet’s spacious derby arena, courtesy of the Duggan family. There was a large entry of nearly 130 tests and the calm atmosphere produced some quality tests.

The most advanced class, Inter 1, was won by Meabh Hennessy riding Snoop Dogg in his favourite arena. The highest score of the day was 74% achieved by para rider Rosemary Gaffney, riding Werona, who impressed judge Dermot Cannon. Tara Oliver and Furst Romance won the Advanced while Tipperary-based rider Sue Smallman had a double of wins in elementary and medium classes with her own horse Gloriant H. Local para rider Angela Lyons won a medium test on Tommy – aka Woodcroft Santa Cruz - and Skevanish’s Vanessa O’Sullivan rode the aptly named Jolly Good Fellow to win preliminary and novice classes.
