THE Wicklow Area of the Irish Pony Society were delighted with the high number of entries to their first show which took place last Saturday at Marlton Lodge. The standards were very high and all judges commented on the high quality of the new ponies competing and how well the ponies had wintered.

The largest numbers of entries were in the Novice Working hunter classes, all riders seemed to enjoy the very inviting Johnny Kyle-built track which is a positive outlook for the future of the Working Hunter pony. James Ryan won the Novice Working Hunter Championship with his pony Donode Mabel Molly with Kate Lawlor winning the Mini Working Hunter Championship with her pony Waitwith Fancyman.
