FOLLOWING three days of jump racing at Ballybrit, the action returned to the flat on Saturday with the opening maiden being the most intriguing race with an eye on the future. As the market predicted it was a straight fight between father and son as Joseph’s representative Buckaroo (87+) was sent off favourite to beat Aidan’s Stone Age (87+) as both colts made their second racecourse appearance.

The overall time of the race may have been the slowest of the four races over the extended mile but that does not paint an accurate picture of the potential that both juveniles have and their Futurity Stakes entries are fully justified.
