HEADING into week two of the six-day sale in Goresbridge, and offering an increased catalogue of 485 lots, it is the three-year-olds who take centre stage.

This is an important date in the calendar for pinhookers and private buyers alike, and of course with the added medium of online selling, the three days are likely to be lively.

During the course of the week, black-type pedigrees appear in abundance, both for the show jumping and eventing disciplines. Standing out among those on offer are siblings to recent Tokyo campaigners, while others have a mix of top continental and Irish bloodlines.

Certainly, most of the influential sires are well-represented, and heading the numerical list, as he did in week one, is the Kennedy Brothers’ enduringly popular stallion OBOS Quality. The Co Limerick-based sire has 25 progeny entered over the three days, while also featuring prominently are Dignified Van’t Zorgvliet (16), Sligo Candy Boy (12), and the Slyguff Stud’s thoroughbred sire Pointilliste with 11.
