THE Street Cry filly Winx, landed the 2,200 metre Queensland Oaks at Doomben on Saturday to make it a 13th Group 1 win for the Chris Waller stable, 12 of which have been individual winners.

A runner-up in the Group 1 Australian Oaks in April, Winx tuned-up with a win in the Group 3 Sunshine Coast Guineas two weeks earlier before making short work of her opposition in the Queensland Oaks to win by four lengths from the Grey Swallow filly Ungrateful Ellen and the Tavistock filly Imperial Lass.

“I think she will make a very good 1,600-metre horse later in her career and the Group 1 Myer Classic during the spring should be ideal for her,” said Waller who indicated Winx would be spelled for the spring.
