Tattersalls Ireland’s August National Hunt Sale is previewed by Michael Ross
THERE is a very substantial catalogue for this year’s August Sale at Fairyhouse and all 791 entries are National Hunt stores. Tattersalls Ireland will be selling on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 14th to 16th and August.
Talented jumpers such as Moon Racer, Thistlecrack, Beef Or Salmon, Tranquil Sea, Oscars Well, Oscar Dan Dan and Morning Assembly have been bought at the August Sale in recent years, mostly for less than €12,500 each, and prices are usually lower than at the Derby Sale in June.
Many of the leading Irish National Hunt sires are strongly represented, including Arcadio, Fame And Glory, Flemensfirth, Getaway, Mahler, Milan, Oscar, Presenting, Robin Des Champs, Scorpion, Shirocco, Stowaway and Yeats.
All lots bought at the August Sale will be eligible for the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse next Easter.
