DANNY Mullins made his trip to America pay dividends as he landed the Grand National Hurdle at Far Hills with Mr Hot Stuff on Saturday evening.

Mullins teamed up with trainer Jack Fisher to steer the 11-year-old Mr Hot Stuff to a narrow victory over the ex-Jessica Harrington inmate Modem in the two-mile-five-furlong contest.

The race had drawn three European raiders in Joseph O'Brien's Katnap, the Emma Lavelle-trained Casino Markets and Charlie Longsdon's Hammersly Lake, but they cut little ice as one-time Triple Crown runner Mr Hot Stuff triumphed by a nose.

Gordon Elliott managed to get a win on the card as Zanjabeel won the Foxbrook Champion Hurdle for novices.

Zanjabeel was last seen when finishing third at Laytown last month and he ran out a cosy four-and-three-quarter-length winner in the hands of Jack Kennedy.
