The Roselier gelding, who won a handicap hurdle and a handicap chase in a 70-race career which started at Clonmel in November 1997, last ran in October 2003 at Fairyhouse. There he was ridden by Slattery’s brother Willie, who was on board the horse in the majority of his races, while other partners included Barry Geraghty and jockeys-turned-trainers Adrian Maguire and Neil Mulholland.

When Bachelors Bar retired from the track, Willie and the Killenaule Racing Syndicate gifted him to Margaret Kimnell, who show jumped the horse as a member of Mill Road Riding Club until 2008. In recent years, Margaret has used Bachelors Bar to wean thoroughbred and sport horse foals at her Littleton farm and he has proved perfect for the task.
