BORN in London in 1961 to Irish parents, my grandfather was a farrier in Bunclody, where I now live. Meeting Tom Byrne, while he was on holiday in London and then our marriage in 1982, led to me leaving Nursing Studies and relocating to Bunclody! I have two married children in their 30s and we’re awaiting the arrival of our first grandchild in October.

As National Coordinator, I have a seat on the RDAI board and my role includes organising the annual conference with a great deal of help from RDAI Secretary, Dilys Lindsay; representing the Association at Horse Sport Ireland meetings; distributing equipment to groups, managing social media and developing a new website. Like all RDAI roles, this is voluntary and all done with the help and advice of fellow board members.
