“I can’t believe you’re gone kiddo, I know back in the day I pushed you hard but it was only because I believed in you so much, but you took it so well, worked so hard and always with a smile on your face.

Jack, you were the nicest, most polite, funny, hardworking, sincere, kind lad I’ve had the pleasure to call my friend and it shows with how many people’s hearts are broken at this time. David and Trish, there are no words that can even come close to express our sorrow for you and your family. R.I.P Jack.” - Cameron Hanley

“Sir Jack.

As I always called you because you were a sir, a gentleman, a top class person...We were lucky enough to have you spend time at our farm and each morning you were buzzing and smiling...The positive energy you brought was inspiring. I watched you develop with some great riding jobs and then to see you grow into your own business with such success gave me so much pride. I write this with tears in my eyes but until another day Sir Jack... RIP my friend.” - Enda Carroll

“Sleep tight Jack. We were lucky enough to have worked together, I think we learned a lot from each other. We spent hours making plans and plotting schemes on how we could win or be better. You only had one vision, to be at the top. Whether it was business or the sport! An absolute gentleman and the most polite person I think I’ve ever met.” -Bertram Allen

“On behalf of Horse Sport Ireland, I wish to offer sincere condolences to Jack’s family and the many friends he made at home and when representing Ireland with distinction around the world. Jack Dodd was an extremely talented and hard-working young man and was much loved by all who met him.

“This is apparent in the many tributes being paid to Jack since the tragic news of his passing reached us on Wednesday.

“Our thoughts are with Jack’s family and friends at this very difficult time.” - Ronan Murphy, CEO Horse Sport Ireland

“Flying high! Jacksie, I always called him and he’d reply, “how’s it goin Ciano”.

So so incredibly sad to learn of Jack Dodd’s passing today. Anybody who met Jack couldn’t help but be impressed by him. He was a class act in every respect and made an impact on us all.

From day one he was always polite, respectful and just a seriously genuine guy. These attributes were not taught to him in any of the yards where he learnt his trade but were rather a testament to his parents Trish and David. My heart goes out to you both, but you can be very proud of your special boy. Deepest sympathy. ” - Cian O’Connor

“I and everybody else am devastated at the tragic news of Jack’s passing. I have known Jack most of his life and admired the mantra which he applied to his work. “Success is the reward for effort.” Jack knew what he wanted and went after it. In 2007 he was part of the COH European Silver medal-winning team. He was on the young rider European team in Arezzo in 2014. I remember thinking then how focused and professional he was while still maintaining a genuine niceness. When Jack left Coolcronan, he was single-minded on the journey he was going to make.

“He knew to be the best he must learn from the best and spent time in many top yards. In 2016 we nominated Jack for the Rolex Young Riders Academy and he was inducted into the Academy. Jack really learned his trade here and made a lasting impression on all whom he met.

“Jack recently set up his own business and was doing really well .While driving out of Sentower Park a few weeks ago, a sign in the main arena caught my eye, “Jack Dodd Stables” and I thought to myself, well done Jack. I offer my heartfelt sympathy to Trish and David along with all of his family and numerous friends. Jack, we will miss you terribly, you were truly one of life’s great guys. Rest in Peace, Heaven has gained an Angel.” - Michael Blake

“The news of Jack’s tragic death has come as a great shock to us all. He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. The loss of such a fine gentleman and a young talented athlete leaves us simply devastated. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues during these very difficult days.”- John Roche, FEI Jumping Director
