MAKE It Easy lived up to his name when he partnered Sven Hadley to win the Underwriting Exchange 1.30m in Millstreet on Friday. By Don’t Touch It M out of C- Larissa, by Landos, the stallion is owned by the rider and is just eight years old.

A total of 65 combinations lined out for the one round speed class and 22 of these left all the poles in place.

Hadley was fastest of these, stopping the clock at 62.75 to secure the top-spot. Shane Goggins, riding David O’Loughlin’s eight-year-old mare SVS Ashford Zodiac (Elvis Ter Putte x Je T Aime Flamenco), bred by Brian Hutchinson, took second place when breaking the beams in 63.27.

Bob Sweeney’s Mulvin Cliodam (Luidam), bred by Richard Smyth and ridden by Katie Nallon, finished in third place in 63.49. Hadley also took fourth place aboard his own mare Uidam (Luidam x Cavalier Royale) in 63.56. Mischa Lennon and her father’s Anthem in my Heart slotted into fifth in 64.36, while Robert Splaine rode Sandra Devine’s Dutch-bred gelding Laranco into sixth place.

1.25m Speed

Sven Hadley and Make It Easy won their second international class of the day when they captured Friday’s 1.25m Speed class.

Of the 26 starters, Hadley’s clear round in a time of 62.91 with Make it Easy was fastest. Hadley also claimed the runner-up spot aboard HSH Harper De Seigneur (Aganix Du Seigneur x Chippison) in 64.06.

Shane O’Reilly and Brian McConville’s BWE Vain Hero (Ugadi Hero Z x Darco) took third in 65.12.

Billy Sinnott rode Ian Smyth’s Ridge Douglas Lady into fourth in 68.17 while Lily Slattery and Captain Candy Man (Sligo Candy Boy x Captain Clover), despite one fence down, finished fifth in 69.59.

Bill Maguire and Sean Brennan’s homebred Lisgobbin Iris (Freeman VDL x Cavalier Royale) completed the line up in sixth in 69.99.
