BOBBY Sparrow Blue and Justine O’Hara pleased the crowds at Clifden again this year, this time in the Connemara high performance class.

Completing the tricky track of 14 obstacles, including a dip in the swollen river, this experienced duo completed the course as one of only two clear rounds in the class.

Bobby Sparrow Blue, a Connemara stallion, who stands at Faughanvale Stables, Greysteel, Co Derry, is only 20 years young and looked like he was thoroughly enjoying his spot in the limelight, giving the crowds a show of his cheeky character during his lap of honour.

Bobby Sparrow Blue and Justine were the first to win the puissance outright in 2011 at Clifden.

Bobby has won the puissance wall contest three times in total with rider Darren Walsh on the other two occasions and the pony also set the world record with side-saddle expert Susan Oakes in 2013 as the Connemara pony to be ridden side saddle over the wall at 140cms.
