JIM Bolger was among the presentation recipients at the Traditional Irish Horse Association (TIHA) annual demonstration on Wednesday at the Dublin Horse Show. The Oylegate, Co Wexford-born racehorse trainer is a longtime support-er of the work the voluntary organisation does to promote traditional breeding, along with ongoing sponsors Horse Sport Ireland, Agria Insurance and Loop Mobile.
Aidan O’Brien’s mentor and dressage rider/coach turned para dressage High performance manager Simone Hession both received lifetime membership awards for their contributions.
Breeders David Byrne, Michael J. Kavanagh, Susan Malee and Derry Rothwell were also honoured, as was Robbie Kearns, rider of Chance Encounter (TIH).
TIHA representatives were also guests at the Native Breeds reception, organ-ised by the Irish Horse Board on Thursday.
