PONY Tales would like to wish the legendary Kitty Donohoe of Goresbridge Horse Sales a very happy 90th birthday.

Paying tribute to their mother, Kitty’s nine children all gathered to celebrate, and her daughter Miriam wrote: “The Ma Kitty turned 90 today. She was a woman ahead of her time, becoming widowed whilst pregnant with her 10th child - and against all the odds rearing us all and building a successful global horse sales business (Goresbridge Horse Sales) at the same time.

“She didn’t have a degree in business or marketing - she learned as she went along and as she says nowadays: ‘I have a degree in life’. Kitty didn’t want a big party to mark her milestone birthday - she said she just wanted her nine living children (our brother Jack died a year after my dad, aged 10). So we gathered for lunch and celebrated Kitty’s remarkable life. And we all continue to be inspired by her. They don’t make them like this any more.”
