THE remarkable Poormans Hill won his sixth race since September at Punchestown on Tuesday.

He was one of three winners on the day for trainer Gordon Elliott and jockey Jack Kennedy, who head in to this weekend's Dublin Racing Festival in unstoppable form.

Poormans Hill joined the Elliott yard last summer and has won two-thirds of his nine starts for the stable. Today's win came in a handicap hurdle in which he carried a 4lb penalty for winning a similar race at Fairyhouse last Saturday.

Sir Carno and Goodthynemilan were the day's other two winners for Elliott and Kennedy.

Goodthynemilan got the better of a tussle with Nicole's Milan to land the Toals.com Bookmakers Play Our Live Casino Beginners Chase.

The 4/1 chance was making only her second start over fences having shown little over timber, but she jumped well in the main for Kennedy and pulled ahead of Nicole's Milan on the home turn.

The latter closed the gap again approaching the last, but Goodthynemilan found plenty up the run-in to keep the odds-on favourite a length and a half at bay.

Elliott's assistant Ian Amond said: "It probably wasn't a great race but Jack said she won it well. You'd imagine off her mark there would be a couple of handicap hurdles in her."

Eagle Lion started making up for lost time when securing the first win of his fledgling career in the maiden hurdle.

Pat Kelly's charge didn't make his debut until late last year at the ripe old age of seven, but had shown promise in two starts and was sent off the 11/10 favourite.

Redhotfillypeppers cut out much of the running, but Davy Russell was still motionless as Eagle Lion cruised into the lead before the last and he ran on well to beat Stoneford by six lengths.

The winning owner [Philip Reynolds], trainer and jockey represent the same team responsible for last week's Gowran Park winner Presenting Percy, warm favourite for the RSA Chase at Cheltenham.
