Dettori ban

FRANKIE Dettori is set to appeal a ban which is set to deny him the chance to ride in next Saturday’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and the following Glorious Goodwood Festival. Dettori picked up a 10-day ban for careless riding when riding Angel’s Hideaway, who finished second in the Group 2 Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket last Friday week.

York options for Latrobe

IRISH Derby winner Latrobe is set to reappear at York next month for either the Great Voltigeur Stakes or the Juddmonte International Stakes. The former, run over a mile and a half, looks the more likely option as it is a significant trial for the St Leger, for which Latrobe is second favourite. The son of Camelot gave his 25-year-old train an historic first classic win when he won at the Curragh earlier this month.
