THE Breeze-Up Sale at Ascot is being conducted for the second time by Tattersalls Ireland, who took it over from Brightwells, the Leominster auctioneers who had been running the Ascot Sales since 2000.

The Ascot Breeze-Up Sale has proved to be a great success in recent years, as it is the first breeze-up of the year and has produced The Wow Signal, who cost £50,000 and won the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville and the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2014, and First Selection, winner of the Group 3 Solario Stakes in 2015.

There have already been 49 winners from last year’s sale.

Tattersalls Ireland has already sent out the catalogue of 99 lots for this year’s Ascot Breeze-Up Sale, to be held on Wednesday week, April 5th. The sale takes place in the Sales Arena in the Racing Stables, across the road from Ascot Racecourse, and will start at 12.00 noon.

The horses will have breezed on the racecourse at midday on Tuesday. Approximately three-quarters of the entries are being offered by Irish vendors.
