2.10 MALLOW MAIDEN HURDLE 2M

Maiden hurdles at this late stage of the season are often fought out between experienced sorts. The pick of the more exposed contenders in this contest is the John Joe Walsh-trained Noble Vision. The four-year-old showed significant improvement on what was her third start over hurdles when second to Oiche Mhaith Boy at Limerick earlier this month. Market support for the Tony Martin-trained Clonard Street would be significant given his smart form on the flat, but he has offered little encouragement in two starts over hurdles to date.

Selection: NOBLE VISION

Next best: Clonard Street

2.45 MUNSTER WASTE MANAGEMENT HANDICAP HURDLE (80-116) 2M

A chance is taken with the Paul O’Flynn-trained Mississippi River. The 11-year-old was a useful performer in bumpers and over hurdles as a younger horse, but missed three years of action until returning to the track last year. He ran his best race since then when second in a handicap hurdle at Thurles last month and he can build on that promise. The Seamus Spillane-trained Inishturk Lad made a promising handicap hurdle debut at this track last time and should be in the mix again.

Selection: MISSISSIPPI RIVER

Next best: Inishturk Lad

3.20 TICKET SALES ONLINE MARES MAIDEN HURDLE 2M 3F

This looks to be a good opportunity for the John Joe Walsh-trained Danali to get off the mark at the fifth attempt over hurdles. The six-year-old won a point-to-point and a bumper last year and ran her best race yet over hurdles when second to Routes Choice at Limerick earlier this month. She won’t need to improve much on that effort to win this. The pick of her rivals could well be the Liz Doyle-trained Seeking Susan who wasn’t that far behind the Selection at Limerick last time and is open to improvement.

Selection: DANALI

Next best: Seeking Susan

3.55 EASTER HANDICAP HURDLE (GRADE C) (0-140) 2M 3F

Marginal preference is given to the Christy Roche-trained Coolaghknock Glebe. The eight-year-old has been progressing rapidly over hurdles of late, winning at Fairyhouse and Down Royal before finding the highly-progressive Squouateur too good for him back at Fairyhouse last time. He could well be improving fast enough to return to winning ways in this. The pick of the remainder could well be the William Murphy-trained Velocity Boy, with the seven-year-old having made a promising return from an absence at Navan last time.

Selection: COOLAGHKNOCK GLEBE

Next best: Velocity Boy

4.30 DERMOT CASEY TREE CARE MAIDEN HURDLE 3M

The Ross O’Sullivan-trained Call It Magic is given the nod. The six-year-old has been acquitting himself very well in similar contests of late and proved his stamina for this trip at Naas last time. It will be disappointing if he doesn’t go very close to making it fifth-time lucky over hurdles in this contest. The main danger to him looks to be the Tom Nagle-trained Gran Cavallo who ran very well in a maiden hurdle at this track last time.

Selection: CALL IT MAGIC

Next best: Gran Cavallo

5.05 IMPERIAL CALL CHASE (GRADE 3) 3M

The Stuart Crawford-trained Fine Rightly makes the most appeal. The eight-year-old has won four of his eight starts over fences and has been holding his form well of late, most recently winning a conditions chase at Down Royal. Conditions will suit and he has strong claims. His most interesting rival is perhaps the Barry Murphy-trained Pairofbrowneyes. The seven-year-old has been progressing notably over fences in recent starts and while this is a step up in class, he could well be up to it.

Selection: FINE RIGHTLY

Next best: Pairofbrowneyes

5.40 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF BEGINNERS CHASE 2M 4F

A chance is taken on the Mick Winters-trained Another Rebel. The nine-year-old hasn’t been seen in public since winning a handicap hurdle at Killarney in August 2013, but that form looks formidable in this company and if the market suggests he is ready to go on his belated return to action, he should go very close. Of the newcomers to chasing, the Leslie Young-trained Cappacurry Zak won twice over hurdles and has run in a point-to-point. He could run well on his seasonal and chasing debut.

Selection: ANOTHER REBEL

Next best: Cappacurry Zak

6.10 CORKRACECOURSE.IE (PRO/AM) FLAT RACE 2M 3F

Willie Mullins introduces an interesting newcomer here in the shape of Classic Place. The six-year-old got the better of the subsequent useful hurdler Dallas Cowboy when winning a point-to-point at Largy in May 2014 and while he hasn’t run since, long absences have long shown to be no barrier to success for Mullins-trained runners. Market support for him would be encouraging. Of those with more recent form in the book, the Sandra Hughes-trained Coeur Joyeux sets a solid standard.
