THE Gai Waterhouse-trained Sweet Idea again underlined what a determined individual she is with an all the way win in the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes over 1,400 metres at Caulfield.

The four-year-old Snitzel mare has now won over A$2 million in stakes.

“She cost $200,000 as a yearling at Magic Millions and it just shows that when you go there, what fun you can have,” said an ebullient Waterhouse.

“She’s just joyous and was ridden the way she likes to be ridden. She was up on the speed, she was dominant, she showed the others that you’ve got to ‘catch me if you can’.

“She goes on to the (Group 1) Myer (Classic) at Flemington (on Derby Day) and once again she’ll be against her (own) sex.”
