WINX is threatening to start the shortest-priced favourite in a Sydney Group 1 race in more than 50 years with early markets opening her at $1.10 for today’s Chipping Norton Stakes over 1,600 metres at Randwick.

Again the Godolphin-trained Hartnell looks her biggest threat to winning 15 straight, with her own stable providing seven of the 13 nominations.

“We weighed her and she’s put on a couple of kilos since the Apollo,” said Chris Waller on Monday. “So she is holding her racing weight and that’s important. She is fit and our job is to maintain that and keep her going through the preparation and she’s as good as she can be.”
