Coolmore Legacy Stakes (Group 1)
FOLLOWING up from her breakthrough Group 1 win in the Coolmore Classic in March, the American-bred Scat Daddy mare Con Te Partiro struck again in the Group 1 Coolmore Legacy Stakes to help the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable to their ninth Group 1 win and fourth in the past month.
“She’s been much better to deal with this campaign; she just needed that time to acclimatise. You could see that today, she’s wanting to be there and put herself in the race and she travelled beautifully,” said Adrian Bott who added that the Coolmore Legacy may be the last start for the Newgate Farm-owned six-year-old mare who Newgate and SF Bloodstock paid $US575,000 at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton November Sale.
“She was always bought as a breeding prospect first and foremost so anything she was going to be able to do on the track was a bonus, so we tried to do what we could in the limited time we had with her.
“I’ll have to have a good talk to Henry Field now and see what they want to do. If this is her last run, she’s gone out in style!”
Winning by two lengths with Tim Clark up, Con Te Partiro defeated the Adelaide filly Funstar and the Masterdraftsman mare Danzdanzdance.
