WHILE every race fan would love to see wonder mare Winx travel to the northern hemisphere, there has to be a small worry that she could be past her best if she does come next year.

There is no indication of it in her runs this year but Winx will be approaching seven (a September foal in 2011) next season if she travels.

Few top racehorses hold their form over more than four seasons. Goldikova certainly had lost a degree of her speed on her final season racing on the track.

It would be a shame if Winx travelled and was not at her peak, which was then used as reason to diminish her achievements in Australia.
