A PUBLIC competition run in association with The Irish Field and Moyglare Stud, for photographs to be included on the Irish Injured Jockeys 2017 Calendar was a huge success and the calender is now on sale through many outlets countrywide.

The calendar also pays tribute to JT McNamara, described by Frankie Ward with the words: “He was a hero, there’s no doubt about it.”

The competition was judged by renowned equine and racing photographer Caroline Norris, the artist Peter Curling, and The Irish Field’s editor Leo Powell. The overall winner, Mark Wiseman, has his picture from Punchestown featured on the front cover, with 12 more entries covering the year and a montage of highly commended shots also included.

All monies raised from the sale of the calendar, which includes all Irish and British racemeetings, goes to help the work carried on by IIJ. They provide help for all riders, from those who have suffered serious injury to those who may need counseling, advice or help in finding new careers.
