DELEGATES heard presentations made by Ken Truter, chairman of the National Horseracing Authority of South Africa, and HRH Prince Bandar Bin Khalid Al Faisal, chairman of the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia, on their major international events in February 2020.

The 38th Asian Racing Conference will be held from February 18th to the 23rd in Cape Town when some 500 delegates are expected. A comprehensive programme of events has been compiled, as well as many social and interactive occasions.

On February 29th the world’s richest race, the $20 million Saudi Cup, with a substantial and valuable undercard will be run at Riyadh. Prince Bandar said that the race was part of a strategic plan called Vision 2030 and that horse welfare is central to the strategy.
