THE Agriculture students at UCD raised a record-breaking €75,000 for charity in the current academic year and recently presented €23,000 to Irish Injured Jockeys. The other two charities to benefit were Dublin Rape Crisis Centre and the Gavin Glynn Foundation which helps families with children battling cancer to travel overseas for treatments not available here.

First established in 1923, UCD AgSoc is one of the largest societies at University College Dublin and has a long history of raising and donating substantial sums to worthy causes. Over the last 10 years its members have helped raise nearly €500,000 for charities.
