TWO young men from Kentucky are the latest recipients of Gerry Dilger Equine Scholarship Foundation awards and will be studying at the Irish National Stud in 2026.
The Foundation was established in 2020 by Gerry’s family and friends in his memory and awards several scholarships annually in conjunction with various partners, including the INS where Gerry graduated from in 1977.
Heading to Tully next year for the Thoroughbred Breeding Course are Chance McKeever from Lexington and Mark Schrenger from Louisville.
Chance is the son of Grade 1-winning trainer Andrew McKeever and his experience includes a spell as assistant trainer to Michael McCarthy, trainer of Breeders’ Cup winners City Of Light and Ce Ce, and this year’s top Preakness winner Journalism.
Mark has a degree in finance and has completed an internship with Churchill Downs.
