ALMOST 800 yearlings are due to be offered for sale next week in Deauville at the combined Arqana-Osarus October Yearling Sale. The five-day sale starts on Monday at 11am.
Recent graduates of this sale include seven-time Grade 1 winner Sistercharlie, Group 1 winners Wooded and Audarya and this year’s classic-placed pair of The Summit and Speak Of The Devil.
This year’s catalogue includes siblings to two recent Group 1 winners – Wooded and Wonderful Tonight. There is also an interesting late entry from Ballylinch Stud, a Sea The Stars half-sister to recent American Grade 2 winner Aunt Pearl.
Proven sires represented in the catalogue include Camelot, Dark Angel, Exceed And Excel, Invincible Spirit, Le Havre, Lope De Vega, Night Of Thunder, No Nay Never, Pivotal, Sea The Moon, Sea The Stars, Showcasing, Siyouni and Wootton Bassett.
There are also yearlings from the first crops of Almanzor, Caravaggio, Churchill, Highland Reel, National Defense, Profitable, Ribchester, Time Test and Wings Of Eagles. Notable second crop sires to watch out for include Goken, Mehmas, New Bay and Shalaa.
