Bred by Paddy Behan in Co Laois. Sold at the Goffs Land Rover Sale in 2013 for €60,000 from Michael Carty’s Kilmoney Cottage Stud to Highflyer Bloodstock. Becomes the second black type winner for his dam who was a Grade 3 hurdle winner at Tralee. The first was Princess Leya, a Grade 2 hurdle winner at Fairyhouse by Old Vic. Family of Moorish who was runner-up in the Grade 1 Triumph Hurdle, and Decent Fellow who after his racing career enjoyed success as a National Hunt sire.

DOUVAN (FR)

6-y-o g. by Walk In The Park out of Star Face (Saint Des Saints)

Bred by Haras de la Faisanderie in France. By the Epsom Derby runner-up Walk In The Park who relocated to Ireland for the 2016 season and is also sire of Cheltenham runner-up Min. Douvan is the first foal of his dam who failed to sell, in foal again to Walk In The Park, at €140,000 last November. Star Face is out of a mare who won four times and is from the family of multiple blacktype French hurdle winner Discover D’Auteuil, five of whose six wins over jumps were in blacktype races.

Bred by Felix Talbot in Dungannon, Co Tyrone. Changed hands twice, for €15,000 in a private sale at Arqana in June 2011, sold by Haras de Saint Voir to PB Bloodstock. Then sold for £450,000 at the DBS Hennessy Sale at Newbury in November 2013 by Sellwood Bloodstock to David Pipe. Best offspring of his dam and her grandam bred Voy Por Ustedes, winner of the Queen Mother Champion Chase and Arkle Chase at Cheltenham, the Ascot Chase and the Melling Chase at Aintree twice.

ANNIE POWER (IRE)

8-y-o f. by Shirocco out of Anno Luce (Old Vic)

Bred by Eamon Cleary who purchased the dam, carrying Annie Power, for €60,000 at Goffs in 2007. Easily the best of six winning offspring of her dam, the others including the Grade 3 chase winner Head Waiter and the listed flat winner Air Trooper. Two of her half-sisters have bred blacktype winners, Giantofaman over hurdles and Lady Pimpernel who won a Grade 3 race in America. Their dam Anno Luce was a classic-placed group winner who is related to Helmet and Epaulette.

VROUM VROUM MAG (FR)

7-y-o f. by Voix Du Nord out of Naiade Mag (Kadalko)

Bred in France by Count Antoine-Audoin Maggiar, Vroum Vroum Mag is out of a mare who won at six. Naiade Mag’s first three runners have all shown form and include the listed-placed hurdler Brise Vendeenne who was sold for £100,000 at Brightwells in 2015. Naiade Mag is a half-sister to Saint Are, winner of the Grade 1 Sefton Novices’ Hurdle and a listed chase at Aintree and was runner-up in the 2015 Grand National. This the family of Punchestown Grade 2 chase winner Jasmin D’Oudairies.

MINELLA ROCCO (IRE)

6-y-o g. by Shirocco out of Petralona (Alleged)

Bred by Gary Hadden in partnership, Minella Rocco was sold as a foal at Goffs for €22,000 to Kilmoney Cottage Stud who also handled Altior. He was through Goffs as a yearling when knocked down to Bishopstown Stud and then Kilmoney Cottage sold him for €48,000 at the Derby Sale to John Nallen, who sold him to Kieran McManus for £260,000 last year at Brightwells. He is a half-brother to Big Moment and Pressgang, both Grade 1 placed under National Hunt rules.

BALLYALTON (IRE)

9-y-o g. by Pierre out of Almito (Mandalus)

Bred by Peter Doyle and sold by him as a foal for €7,500 at Goffs to Ballinteskin Stud. He was resold from Milestone Stables for Ian Williams for £33,000 at Brightwells Cheltenham Sale in December 2011. He is the only winner for his dam who was a half-sister to a single winner. This is the family of the high-class racemare Refinement, winner of the champion bumper at Punchestown, her listed bumper winning half-brother Manners and the Listed Red Rum Chase winner Jacks Craic.

6-y-o g. by Presenting out of Lightning Breeze (Saddlers’ Hall)

Bred by Patrick Keating and sold from Parkview Farm to Ian Ferguson as a foal at Tattersalls Ireland for €41,000. First winner for his unraced dam who is a half-sister to no less than five graded National Hunt winners, two of them successful at Grade 1 level. They are The Listener, a multiple Grade 1 winner in Ireland, and Offshore Account. Their dam Park Breeze, one of the most successful National Hunt broodmares ever, was a full-sister to the great Enda Bolger stalwart Risk Of Thunder.

BLAKLION (GB)

7-y-o g. by Kayf Tara out of Franciscaine (Legend Of France)

Bred by Mrs M. Morrison, Blaklion is the best of three stakes-performing winners for his dam who won at three in France. The others are the Grade 3-placed chaser Francis Du Mesnil and the Cheltenham runner-up Francesa. Franciscaine is a half-sister to the Grade 3 winning chaser Indian River who went on to become a successful National Hunt sire with winners such as Madison Du Berlais, and to the Auteuil listed chase winner The Knight. Family of Group 1 winner The Wonder.

DIAMOND KING (IRE)

8-y-o g. by King’s Theatre out of Georgia On My Mind (Belmez)

Bred at Cleaboy Stud, Diamond King was twice sold through the ring. He sold as a yearling from Trickledown Stud to Brendan Boyle for £47,000, and cost Aiden Murphy €95,000 as a three-year-old when sold at the Derby Sale from Goldford Stud. He is the best winner out of the listed French hurdle winner Georgia On My Mind and she is one of two black type, French jump winning daughters of the Phardante mare Cure The Blues, a stakes winner in Belgium.

SPRINTER SACRE (FR)

10-y-o g. by Network out of Fatima III (Bayolidaan)

Bred in France by Christophe Masle, Sprinter Sacre is the outstanding runner in his family. He is one of four winners for his dam who was placed at three in France. Her other winners include the three-time winner Kashmina. Fatima III is a half-sister to two winners and to the placed mare Legende Sacree who has bred a couple of winners including Tiot Cas who won the Listed Prix General Donnio Chase at Auteuil in 2013, was placed in the race in 2015 and has earned more than £170,000.

Bred by Gerald Mitchell and sold as a foal at the Tattersalls Ireland November Sale to Moanmore Stables for €7,000. He is the best of a pair of winners from his unraced dam and she was a half-sister to a minor winner. Brave Bavard, the grandam of Any Currency, was the daughter of three-time winner Serene Lady, in turn a daughter of the six-time winner Belle Caprice. This is the family of the listed Galway chase winner Frost Bound who was runner-up in the Kerry National.

DIEGO DU CHARMIL (FR)

4-y-o g. by Ballingarry out of Daramour (Anabaa Blue)

Bred in France by Mme Guilhaine Le Borgne, Diego Du Charmil is one of a pair of significant National Hunt performers produced by Daramour. The other is the Grade 2 winning hurdler Days Of Heaven, a son of Saint Des Saints. Their dam is a half-sister to the listed chase winner and Grade 2 placed Klassical Way and comes from a family equally adept at producing black type winners under both rules, including the top American hurdler and Carolina Cup winner Al Skywalker.

BALLYANDY (GB)

Bred by Pleasure Palace Racing, Ballyandy was sold as a foal from Overbury Stud to Highflyer Bloodstock for £16,000. He is one of six winners from seven runners for his winning dam and the previous winners include another important bumper winner in Ballyandy’s full-brother Megastar who won a listed bumper at Aintree. And over hurdles ran second in the Tolworth Novices’ Hurdle at Sandown. All bar one of Megalex’s winners are sons or daughters of Kayf Tara.

BLACK HERCULES (IRE)

7-y-o g. by Heron Island out of Annalecky (Bob’s Return)

Bred by Spencer Hawkins and sold by him as a yearling in a private sale for €3,000 to Emerald Bloodstock at Tattersalls Ireland, Black Hercules was resold at the Goffs Land Rover Sale from Gormanstown Stud to Patrick Mullins for €16,000. He is the nest offspring to date out of an unraced half-sister to Grade 2 hurdle winner Indian Scout, and to the unraced Shannon Jewel, the grandam of Monksland. This is the family of the Reynoldstown Novices’ Chase winner Kissane.

MALL DINI (IRE)

6-y-o g. by Milan out of Winsome Breeze (Glacial Storm)

Bred by Patricia Furlong, Mall Dini failed to reach his reserve when offered for sale as a foal at Tattersalls Ireland, led out unsold at €5,500. He is the best of three winning offspring of his dam who never ran but her three winning siblings included Kirmar, placed in graded races over hurdles and fences including the Thyestes Chase. Their dam Winsome Doe was a half-sister to Romany King, a 12-time winner and runner-up in the Aintree Grand National and the Mildmay of Flete Chase.

VAUTOUR (FR)

7-y-o g. by Robin Des Champs out of Gazelle De Mai (Dom Pasquini)

Bred in France by Haras de Saint Voir (who also sold Un Temps Pour Tout) and Patrick Houbert, Vautour is the best of four winners for his dam and he was produced when she was 20 years of age. Gazelle De Mai won 20 races during her career, nine on the flat and 11 over jumps and she was a listed hurdle winner at Auteuil. Her full-brother Lord Pasquini was also a multiple winner, his nine successes including the Listed Grand Steeplechase at Bordeaux and two other races over jumps.

THISTLECRACK (GB)

8-y-o g. by Kayf Tara out of Ardstown (Ardross)

Bred by Robin and Scarlett Knipe at their Cobhall Court Stud, Thistlecrack was sold as a foal at Tattersalls Ireland for €32,000 to John McDonald. He resold him at the August Sale in the same venue three years later for €43,000 to John Snook, his current owner. One of three winners from three runners for his dam who won four chases and three point-to-points, Thistlecrack’s full-sister was sold to John Snook for £165,000 on Thursday night at Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham Sale.

EMPIRE OF DIRT (IRE)

9-y-o g. by Westerner out of Rose Of Inchiquin (Roselier)

Bred by Sean Harnedy, Empire Of Dirt sold for €65,000 as a foal to Goldford Stud at Tattersalls Ireland and came back for the Derby Sale where Goldford acted as agent for Lady Jane Grosvenor and Bobby O’Ryan signed for the three-year-old at €325,000, a new record for a store. Sean raced Rose Of Inchiquin and her biggest success was in the Grade 2 Lismullin Hurdle and Empire Of Dirt is her second blacktype winner. She is also the dam of Grade 3 chase winner Panther Claw.

LIMINI (IRE)

5-y-o f. by Peintre Celebre out of Her Grace (Spectrum)

Bred by Sir Edmund Loder at his Eyrefield Lodge Stud, Limini was sold as a yearling through The Castlebridge Consignment at Goffs to McKeever Bloodstock for €31,000. She next was sold to Harold Kirk for €100,000 at Arqana’s Arc Sale in 2014. She is the best produce of her unraced dam who is a half-sister to the Irish Oaks winner Vintage Tipple, and their dam is a half-sister to the Grade 2 winner and sire Overbury. This is the family of the Melbourne Cup winner Vintage Crop.

Bred by the Niarchos Family’s Flaxman Holdings, he was sold as a three-year-old at Arqana for €52,000 to Highflyer Bloodstock. He is a half-brother to the 2003 Epsom Derby winner Kris Kin and their dam Angel In My Heart was a Group 3 winner in France and Grade 1 runner-up twice in the USA. She was one of three stakes winners out of Sweetly, the best of the trio being the champion French two-year-old, Group 1 winner and later successful stallion Common Grounds.

Bred in partnership by Lynch Bages and the Hyde family’s Camas Park Stud. Comes from a to-class US family, Half-brother to Hamoody, by Johannesburg, who won the Group 2 Richmond Stakes as a two-year-old and won a total of14 races in his career. Dam was placed but has nine winning siblings, headed by the Del Mar Oaks winner Stylish Star. The grandam Northern Style was a stakes winner in California and is a half-sister to Ack Ack Heir whose biggest win came in the Pomona Derby.

Resold at Arqana in November 2014 to Richard Venn Bloodstock for €80,000. Best of the four winners produced by his dam who won twice. Third dam Green Rosy, a full-sister to Big Sink Hope, bred nine winners including Majorien and she is the grandam of the Melbourne Cup winner Americain who moved to stand in Ireland as a stallion.

UNOWHATIMEANHARRY (GB)

Bred by R.J. Smith, this is the first foal, only runner and best offspring of his dam who was placed in bumpers before going on to win four hurdle races as a seven and eight-year-old. They are the two winning offspring of Love And Porter who was a blacktype winner over hurdles at Dundalk and over fences at Punchestown, and she was third in the Thyestes Chase. Love And Porter is a half-sister to the Grand National Trial winner Tell The Nipper.

IBIS DU RHEU (FR)

Bred in France by Claude Duval, Ibis Du Rheu is the third smart performer out of his unraced dam Dona Du Rheu. The best of the others is the ultra-smart Saphir Du Rheu, a Grade 1 winner at Aintree of the Mildmay Novices’ Chase, of the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham, the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton and runner-up last year in the World Hurdle.
