Keeneland to offer more than 4,500 yearlings

KEENELAND has announced that 4,538 yearlings have been catalogued for the 75th annual Keeneland September Yearling Sale to be held from September 10th to 23rd. The auction, which attracts major buyers from around the world, has this year produced horses such as Triple Crown winner Justify and four-time Grade 1 winner Monomoy Girl. September Sale catalogues will be available online from Tuesday, August 7th.

“The unparalleled strengths of the September Sale are the quantity of outstanding yearlings at all price levels and the deepest buying bench globally in the industry,” Keeneland vice president of racing and sales Bob Elliston said.

“This year was an historic one for the September Sale with graduate Justify becoming racing’s newest Triple Crown winner. This is another milestone in a sale with a record of consistently producing world-class athletes.”

Among the exciting highlights of the 2018 September Sale catalogue are the first yearlings by 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah.

Goffs UK release yearling catalogues

SOME 501 yearlings featuring progeny by Europe’s leading sires and from Europe’s finest families will be offered at the 2018 Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale at Doncaster on August 28th and 29th. The Premier Sale has progressed significantly in recent years as it continues to gain international recognition for precocious, athletic individuals.

Graduates of the Premier Sale include the top-class filly Laurens, winner of the Group 1 Fillies Mile last season at two and the Group 1 Prix Saint-Alary and Group 1 Prix de Diane (French Oaks) this year. Two-year-old graduates this year are headed by the talented Group 2 Arqana July Stakes winner Advertise and the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes winner Rumble Inthejungle.

The Goffs UK Silver Yearling Sale will be held the day following the Premier Yearling Sale on August 30th and will offer 174 yearlings.
