KILCARRY Bridge (8/1) won the feature race at Ballinrobe on Tuesday evening, taking the McHale Mayo National Handicap Chase in the hands of Donagh Meyler.
The John Ryan-trained gelding won the two-mile, seven-furlong contest by a length from Aranhill Chief (20/1), who was partnered by Rachael Blackmore.
The McHale Coranna Handicap Hurdle, the second most valuable race on the card, also went to an 8/1 shot as Swamp Fox, ridden by 7lb claimer Barry Browne, short-headed Polar Present (12/1), the mount of Meyler.
The pair finished three and three-quarter lengths clear of the Joseph O'Brien-trained Plinth (8/1) at the end of the two and a half-mile event with the favourite, Lachares (7/2), only ninth.
QUICK DOUBLE
Is She Diesel showed no ill effects from Monday's success to land her second win in as many days in the McHale Pro Glide Mower Range Rated Novice Hurdle.
Less than 24 hours after winning in handicap company, Seamus Fahey's 7/2 chance was settled just behind the early leaders by Sean Flanagan, before striking for home at the final flight. Dorans River gave chase on the turn for home, but Is She Diesel kept on relentlessly to score by a length and a quarter.
Fahey said: "That went well, thank God. She stayed down last night, we went home. There is something not right about that! That probably just helped her a little bit. I'd say we will probably be heading to Galway with her now after this. "Yesterday I was a bit concerned and today I was even more so. You just don't know what the race has taken out of her. Even though she hadn't a hard race, we couldn't be sure what it took out of her until she went out there again today.
"She only had a featherweight on her back last night. I don't know what way Noel O'Brien (handicapper) is going to view this now. It's nice to get two pots. I chatted to Noel and she was to go up 11lbs for yesterday. We just took our chance with her and it worked out."
