DUAL classic winner Winter tops 11 confirmations for the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood on Thursday.
Aidan O’Brien’s filly has carried all before her over a mile with victories in the English and Irish 1000 Guineas and the Coronation Stakes. She might now step up to a mile and a quarter for the first time in search of a fourth successive Group 1 triumph.
Winter could be joined by stablemates Hydrangea and Rain Goddess.
So Mi Dar is in line to make her first appearance since October when she lost her 100%record when third in the Prix de l’Opera at Chantilly.
Her trainer John Gosden has also left in Shutter Speed, who suffered a first defeat when fourth in the Prix de Diane (French Oaks) on her latest start.
APPLEBY
Charlie Appleby is double-handed at this stage with Sobetsu and Falmouth Stakes runner-up Wuheida, who was taken out of the Prix Rothschild at Deauville on Sunday but is set to take her chance at Goodwood.
Appleby said: “Wuheida will go to the Nassau. I couldn’t be any happier with how she came out of the Falmouth. She put in a nice bit of work in midweek and we will take a look at her again on Saturday.”
Roger Varian has left in impressive Pretty Polly Stakes scorer Nezwaah, while Aim To Please, Blond Me and Queen’s Trust complete the list.
