THE Tattersalls Ireland August National Hunt Sale catalogue features 662 National Hunt two, three and four-year-olds and the sale takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday August 9th and 10th, starting at 10am each day.

Thistlecrack is one of the best runners to emerge from previous August Sales and his sire, Kayf Tara, has three progeny catalogued. A total of 146 stallions are represented with offspring, including leading sires King’s Theatre, Presenting, Flemensfirth, Beneficial, Milan, Oscar, Westerner, Robin Des Champs and Saddler Maker, sire of the top lot that made €255,000 at the most recent Derby Sale. Also catalogued are a number of horses that missed their date at the Derby Sale and are sure to attract lots of interest this time.

All three and four-year-olds catalogued for the sale are eligible for the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper in 2017.

Three 2016 European classic winners, including Galileo Gold, plus an excellent strike-rate with two-year-olds, have led to an increase in demand for places at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale. As a consequence, the company is extending the Part 2 catalogue by a day and the entire sale will now run to four days, starting on Tuesday September 20th and running through to Friday 23rd. Last year’s sale graduates have already racked up more than 60 victories and include the Group 2 Railway Stakes winner Medicine Jack, while the German and Italian 1000 Guineas winners Hawksmoor and Condelice were also purchased at Fairyhouse. Catalogues for the sale will be online from Monday and the print version will be available from Monday, August 1st.
