REDWELD Stables is Ireland’s leading designer, manufacturer and installer of equine stables. Based in Youghal, Co Cork the company has steadily built a strong reputation in the equine industry both here and in the UK.

Redweld’s products are all manufactured to order at its factory in Youghal, which allows the team to design and create bespoke solutions.

Among the range of products available, one of the current popular choices is external stabling. A cost-effective solution that saves on the need to build a standard portal frame shed, Redweld external stables can be installed in back-to-back, linear, L-shaped or U-shaped arrangements. The linear designs have proven especially useful where standalone isolation units are required for quarantine (picture 2).

These units can also be built in an American barn configuration with a covered central passageway, at a significant saving compared to building a traditional barn and then fitting it out, as poured concrete or block walls are not required.

Redweld also offers a variety of options for internal stables. The standard stable front with a sliding door is quite popular.

These fronts can also include swivel feeders and hayracks which can be loaded from the outside, reducing the need to enter the stable for feeding (picture 1).

Other designs include the decorative range of stable fronts (picture 3) where sweeping soft curves are added to produce an elegant aesthetic finish. Another option, fully-hinged stable fronts, allow the entire front of the unit to be opened out wide to facilitate easier cleaning in larger barns.

Quality

Redweld Stables uses a very high quality recycled heavy-duty plastic tongue and groove stable board in place of hardwoods nowadays, as they are far easier to clean, do not rot, are waterproof, UV resistant and do not promote bacterial or fungal growth. In addition, they can last a lifetime and are capable of withstanding abuse without cracking or splintering. These are available in a range of colours, but black proves to be the most popular by far.

Redweld offers a variety of stable door styles ranging from sliding doors with anti-weave grilles or a simple full grille, to hinged double doors, again, with various bespoke options available.

Stable windows also come in a variety of designs depending on the customer’s requirements.

The feeding barrier is a popular product too, allowing for a very cost effective solution for wintering horses. Fully hinged with seven separate feeding bays where they can negate the need for individual stables during winter months (picture 4).

Donnchadh Doyle, P2P handler

“We have a lot of Redweld stables installed here and are very happy with them. They are very sturdy and durable and have not given us any issues since they were installed. Redweld are great to deal with. I would highly recommend them.”

Kevin Blake

“Redweld built and installed eight stables in pre-existing buildings here. The stables themselves are excellent, but what really impressed me was that from their first visit to assess the job right up to its completion, Redweld showed excellent attention to detail and thoughtfulness in both the design and finish of the job. No detail was considered too small to give their full attention to. I have no hesitation in recommending them.”

Mick Murphy, Longway Stables

“When building our new yard, we contracted Redweld Stables to manufacture and install 40 stables to our specific requirements. They also supplied the doors for the tack and feed rooms. We found the quality of the product to be top class. There were no delays, everything was done in the timeframe agreed. Their follow up service has been excellent. We have recommended them to many and will continue to do so.”
