YOU’RE winning competitions, your horses are in top form – who wouldn’t want to sponsor you?

Unfortunately, in the digital age that we are in, winning competitions and being at the top of your game is not enough to attract the interest of sponsors and partners.

Digital influencers and bloggers are now becoming just as popular and important to brand marketers as five-star riders are. This is mainly down to the lack of personal digital marketing done by riders and the over marketing of influencers digitally.

Riders and stable owners need to be much more versatile and adaptable to new marketing techniques to promote themselves and brands.

Ask yourself this question, can you suggest five things that you could do for a brand if they sponsor you?

Most people would find it hard to list more than two.

Above are some tips on how to build a profile of yourself which can be used to approach brands. These tips are not just for up and coming equestrians looking for sponsorship, these tips are also useful for top riders. It’s never a bad time to revaluate marketing techniques as companies and brands are always looking to revive their portfolio or sponsorships.

Here is another good piece of advice to keep in mind: “Strategy is about setting yourself apart from the competition, it is not a matter of being better at what you do it’s a matter of being different at what you do.” – Michael Porter.

The main ingredients are to have passion and love for what you do and that should come across to and potential brands.

Good Luck.
