THE Mr Prospector (by Raise A Native) stallion line’s many successful branches include the one established by Kingmambo, the triple Group 1-winning miler whose dam Miesque (by Nureyev) was one of the great filly milers of all time.

Kingmambo got his Group 1 and classic stars around the world and his stallion sons include El Condor Pasa, King Kamehameha, Lemon Drop Kid, King’s Best Henrythenavigator and Archipenko, to name just a few. The first pair were Japanese champions before becoming successful sires. King Kamehameha has been champion sire in Japan and has at least nine Group 1 winners to his name. Lemon Drop Kid was a classic hero in the USA and the progeny of this Lane’s End Farm sire include seven Grade 1 winners.

Another son of Kingmambo available to Irish breeders is Rule Of Law, the Group 1 St Leger hero of 2004. He also won the Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes and, as a two-year-old, the Listed Acomb Stakes and the races in which he was placed featured his runners-up position, to North Light, in the Derby at Epsom. The only time he was out of the frame was when finishing fourth behind Grey Swallow in the Group 1 Irish Derby at The Curragh.

Rule Of Law’s stamina was something of a surprise; he is by a miler and out of a six-furlong listed scorer. Crystal Crossing, has also produced the stakes placed mile winner Totally Devoted (by Seeking The Gold) and the 500,000gns broodmare Dame Marie (by Smart Strike) while her own sire is the Group 1- winning sprinter and miler Royal Academy (by Nijinsky). Her full-sister Circle Of Gold won the Group 3 Prestige Stakes over seven furlongs as a two-year-old.

Their dam Never So Fair is a daughter of the sprint champion Never So Bold (by Bold Lad) and of the Group 1 Irish 1000 Guineas heroine Favoletta (by Baldric) and so was a half-sister to two fillies who showed speed. Amaranda (by Bold Lad) won the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes over five furlongs as a juvenile and her miler son Imperial Ballet (by Sadler’s Wells) is the sire of the Group 1-winning sprinter Imperial Beauty. Favoridge (by Riva Ridge) won the Group 3 Nell Gwyn Stakes and was placed in the Group 1 1000 Guineas, the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes and the Group 2 Coronation Stakes.

This is also the family of Olympic Glory (by Choisir) who stands in France for €15,000 and has his first foals this year. He was a Group 1 winner each year he raced and earned some £1.4 million.
