STANDING at Dalham Hall Stud at a very attractive fee, Postponed was twice a champion in a glittering career which spanned five seasons, defeating 27 different Group 1 winners. This son of Dalham’s star stallion Dubawi had four Group 1 victories to his credit and earnings of almost £5,000,000.

His sire Dubawi has over 175 stakes winners to his credit, no less than 41 of them at Group 1 level, and including such stars as Night Of Thunder, Poet’s Voice, New Bay and Too Darn Hot. Postponed’s first foals made prices up to 280,000gns in 2019, averaging over €63,000.

Bought for 360,000gns as a yearling, Postponed scored over seven furlongs as a two-year-old, then improved steadily throughout the next season when he defeated Snow Sky in the Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at York and won a listed race, besides being placed in blacktype company in his other three starts, including group races at Newmarket and Ascot.

In 2015 Postponed was the champion older horse in England at 12 furlongs on the International Classifications after winning the Group 1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot from Eagle Top, as well as the Group 2 Prix Foy at Longchamp, and he was never out of the first three in three more group races, including the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup.

Postponed was even more successful the next season, rated the champion older horse in Europe when he won his first four starts, starting with the Group 2 Dubai City of Gold Stakes and the Group 1 Dubai Sheema Classic in record time. He defeated the subsequent Arc heroine Found by over four lengths in the Group 1 Coronation Cup at Epsom and then beat Highland Reel in the Group 1 Juddmonte International at York, ending his year with a creditable fifth to Found in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, ahead of New Bay and Harzand.

Timeform rated him their champion older horse in Europe on 130.

Out of Dubai Destination’s winning daughter Ever Rigg, Postponed is a half-brother to the Group 1 Premio Lydia Tesio victress God Given. His grandam Bianca Nera was a champion two-year-old filly whose wins included the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes and the Group 2 Lowther Stakes at York. Postponed is inbred 4x4 to Mr Prospector and, with a pedigree free of both Sadler’s Wells and Danzig, he is an ideal outcross for many broodmares.
