THE brilliant Quevega (Robin Des Champs) won 16 races and £755,702 in a stellar career, and now has taken to motherhood just as naturally. She started her career with three wins on the flat in France.

Over the smaller obstacles she enjoyed 13 wins and these included the Grade 1 Ladbroke World Series Tipperkevin Hurdle at Punchestown four times and the Grade 2 David Nicholson Mares’ Hurdle at Cheltenham a record six times. Her placed efforts included being runner-up in the Tipperkevin Hurdle and third in the Grade 1 Punchestown Champion Hurdle and Prix Alain du Breil d’Ete 4yo Hurdle at Auteuil.

Her first produce is a three-year-old daughter of Beat Hollow (Sadler’s Well) who was sold as a yearling for €50,000. Last year she had a colt by Walk In The Park (Montjeu), the sire of Douvan and Min, and on Tuesday she foaled a full-sister by the Grange Stud stallion.
