BIG INTERNATIONAL DOUBLE FOR GALILEO

Just hours after the likely European juvenile champion of 2016 – Churchill (by Galileo) – won the Group 1 Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket, Photo Call made all to spring a 30/1 shock in the Grade 1 First Lady Stakes over a mile at Keeneland, beating Tepin.

That mare is often first remembered as having won the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes and Group 2 Temple Stakes, but she was also a pattern winner over a mile – the Group 2 Ridgewood Pearl Stakes at the Curragh.

Airwave is a half-sister to the ill-fated Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes heroine Jwala (by Oasis Dream), and her progeny include the Group 3 Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies' Stakes winner Aloof (by Galileo) and the mile listed scorer Orator (by Galileo), who also stayed 10 furlongs.

FRESHMAN UPDATE

The victory of Frankuus in the Group 3 Prix de Conde at Chantilly on Saturday made him the fourth individual pattern winner for Frankel (by Galileo) and the colt he beat by a neck that day was Prinz Hlodowig, a son of Haras de la Cauviniere's freshman Rajsaman (by Linamix).

That stallion was also represented by Brametot, who took his record to three wins from four starts with mile listed success at Bordeaux le Bouscat on Tuesday.

Frankel's son Cunco stayed on strongly but failed narrowly to take the Listed Godolphin Flying Start Zetland Stakes over 10 furlongs at Newmarket, which was run in juvenile course record time, and the stallion was also represented this past week by the maiden winners Monarchs Glen and Icespire.

The large first crop of Tally-Ho Stud's Sir Prancealot (by Tamayuz) yielded its second stakes winner when Sir Dancealot took the Listed coral.co.uk Rockingham Stakes over six furlongs at York.

Megan Lily (by Dragon Pulse) was third in the Listed Criterium de Vitesse over five furlongs at Chantilly, Stamp Collecting (by Casamento) was third in the Group 3 Premio Dormello over a mile at San Siro, and dual scorer Harbour Master (by Harbour Watch) missed out on blacktype by a nose when fourth in a mile listed contest at Santa Anita.

WinStar Farm's Grade 1 winner Gemologist (by Tiznow) became the third US freshman of 2016 to get a winner at the highest level when Yellow Agate narrowly won the Grade 1 Frizette Stakes over a mile at Belmont Park.

Broadhaven Honey (by Harbour Watch) took her record to two wins from seven starts when winning the five-furlong nursery at Windsor on Monday, and Snookered (by Born To Sea) got off the mark with victory in the eight and a half furlong maiden at Leicester on Tuesday.

Gulliver (by Sayif) opened his winning account over seven furlongs at York, Ekhtiyaar (by Bated Breath) was an easy odds-on maiden scorer at Yarmouth, and Desperados Destiny (by Delegator) made it third time lucky when scoring over six furlongs at Wolverhampton.

Only placed once in seven previous starts from six furlongs to an extended mile, a drop to five furlongs was key for At The Beach, who won the nursery at Kempton on Wednesday. Dolokhov, on the other hand, was placed six times before scoring over seven furlongs at Chantilly that same day. Both are by leading juvenile Harbour Watch (by Acclamation).

The Tom Dascombe-trained gelding White Chin (by Mayson) made it two wins from six starts when winning the six-furlong nursery at Chelmsford on Thursday, and Four Dragons (by Dragon Pulse) got her third win when taking the opener at Haydock on Friday.
