A DAUGHTER of Kingmambo (Mr Prospector) bred the weekend’s Group 1 winner Ulysses, and another daughter of the same stallion is Olga Prekrasa, the dam of the Group 3 Morocco Cup Prix Chloe winner Ibiza on Sunday.

That three-year-old daughter of Redoute’s Choice (Danehill) is yet another star for her dam as her year older sibling Zelzal (Sea The Stars) won the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat last year and was third to Vadamos in the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp.

Ibiza is just the latest in a long list of some 150 stakes winners sired by Redoute’s Choice, an outstanding son of Danehill (Danzig). Winner of both his starts at two, including a defeat of Testa Rossa in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes over six furlongs, he added three more Group 1 successes at three. They were the Manikato Stakes, the Caulfield Guineas (beating Testa Rossa and Commands) and the CF Orr Stakes. He was rated the champion miler of his generation in Australia.

In June of this year Redoute’s Choice celebrated the 300th stakes win by one of his progeny and that number continues to grow. The €100,000 Arqana yearling buy-back Ibiza is the latest to add her name to that distinguished list which includes nine champions and 32 Group 1 winners. Redoute’s Choice has been a multiple champion sire in Australia. Continuing the huge success of this sire line, eight of Redoute’s Choice’s sons have sired Group 1 winners and they include Snitzel, Not A Single Doubt and Stratum.

Olga Prekrasa is one of a pair of minor winners from the Sadler’s Wells (Northern Dancer) mare Opera Aida and she made just a single, unsuccessful start. The other winner was West With The Wind (Gone West) and she is the dam of a stakes-placed winner in India.

Opera Aida has nine winning siblings and three of her full-sisters have produced stakes winners. True Crystal is the dam of Libran (Lawman) and he won the Group 2 Schweppes Chairman’s Handicap and was runner-up in the Group 1 Sydney Cup in Australia. Top Crystal bred the Group 3 winner Three Rocks (Rock Of Gibraltar), while Time Crystal produced the listed winner Sparkling Portrait (Excellent Art).

All of these mares are out of the High Estate (Shirley Heights) mare State Crystal who won the Group 3 Lancashire Oaks and was placed in the Group 1 Prix Vermeille and Yorkshire Oaks. She was one of a quartet of stakes winners from Crystal Spray (Beldale Flutter) and the others were Group 1 Fillies’ Mile winner Crystal Music and the Group 3 winning duo of Dubai Success (Sadler’s Wells) and Solar Crystal (Alzao).
