HATS off to Tara Stud’s Alhebayeb (Dark Angel). In a couple of days he sired listed winning two-year-olds Abama in France and Aurelius In Love in Italy, while his juvenile daughter Lustown Baba captured the valuable Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Race Final at Naas, worth some €72,000 to the winner.

Through the ring at the Goffs Sportsmans Sale last year when sold to trainer Willie McCreery for €12,000, the Laurence and Carla Sheedy-bred Lustown Baba is the sixth winner out of the listed-placed two-year-old Dancing Duchess (Danehill Dancer).

Her previous winners include Lady Beware (Dragon Pulse) who was stakes-placed in the USA and whose yearling full-sister sold in Book 3 of the recent Tattersalls October Yearling Sale for 27,000gns to Kern/Lillingston. Dancing Duchess has a filly foal by Dawn Approach (New Approach).

You have to go back to Lustown Baba’s fourth dam Red Val (Red God) to find the next blacktype in the family. Red Val was runner-up in the Listed Galtres Stakes and bred the stakes winner Carpet General (Sallust) and the Royal Ascot runner-up Kareem (Northfields).

Alhebayeb, winner of the Group 2 July Stakes at two, has commanded a fee of €5,000 since he commenced stud duties in 2015.
