WINNING trainer Paddy Twomey claimed to have nothing in mind after Elltaaf won a Tipperary maiden at the first time of asking since joining the trainer. Formerly in the care of Saeed bin Suroor, for whom she was placed on her only start at two, the daughter of Invincible Spirit was sold for 45,000gns to BBA Ireland at the February Sale this year in Newmarket.

Now racing in the colours of Ennistown Stud, this well-bred three-year-old would soar in value were she to capture some blacktype and I am sure her owners and trainer are scouring the European pattern book for some suitable opportunity.

Elltaaf is the seventh foal and seventh winner for her dam Qasirah, a daughter of Machiavellian. Two of these seven winners are stakes winners, the Diktat gelding Toolain landing a listed race at Ascot, while Tantshi was a listed winning three-year old. Of huge significance is the fact that Tantshi is a full-sister to Elltaaf, and furthermore her first two progeny are a yearling colt and a colt foal, both by Dubawi.

The eighth produce of Qasirah is the two-year-old Invincible Spirit colt Tobrave and he was placed on his first start this year and is odds-on to become the next winner for his dam. Qasirah was a winner at two and group-placed at three. This is a family on the upgrade in a serious way and the 45,000gns purchase of Elltaaf looks like being rewarded in multiples in the near future.
