THIS year’s German 1000 Guineas winner Lady Ilze will be offered as part of a pop-up sale by Tattersalls Online next week. Bidding opens at 3pm on Monday, August 4th and will close from 3pm on Tuesday, August 5th on the Tattersalls Online website at tattersallsonline.com.

The Andreas Wohler-trained filly becomes the first German-consigned horse to be offered by Tattersalls Online, facilitated by a collaboration with German auction house BBAG. The British-bred daughter of Territories began her career in Poland and transferred to Wohler this season, finishing fourth in a Group 3 on stable debut.

The Westminster Stud-owned bay went on to achieve classic success by a length, beating listed winner D’Ores Et Deja into second, the French raider subsequently finishing fifth in the Prix de Diane. The fourth-placed Santagada subsequently gained her third Group 3 win.

Lady Ilze has also run with credit since, finishing fifth against older mares in the Group 1 Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket. She is being offered with a current Timeform rating of 107.

Lady Ilze is out of an 80-rated Intikhab mare from the family of champion older mare in Germany, Catella, a Group 1 winner whose four Group/Grade 1 placings include a fine third in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf.

Katherine Sheridan, Tattersalls Online sales manager, commented: “Tattersalls is delighted to be entrusted with the sale of German classic winner Lady Ilze. Offering a filly of her quality on our online platform is a testament to the confidence placed in Tattersalls Online and its success. It is a privilege to present her to the market and she is sure to attract global interest.

“We are also excited to be collaborating with Klaus Eulenberger and the team at BBAG, with whom we have a strong relationship. The joint venture opens new opportunities for our online platform and will be a key focus of future growth in the sale of German-based horses.”
