YET another huge year on the track and in the sales ring for Sea The Stars has seen his stud fee rise from €250,000 to €300,000 for 2026.
The Gilltown Stud stallion finishes the season as the leading active Irish-based sire. His three Group 1 winners are headed by Daryz - who followed in the footsteps of his sire to win the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe - together with Aventure and Sosie, while his strong supporting cast of Group 1 performers include Grand Stars, Map Of Stars, River Of Stars, See The Fire, Sweet William and The Lion In Winter.
This success also extended to the sales ring, where his colt out of Crystal Zvezda sold for 3.7 million guineas, a world record price for a yearling in 2025.
As a broodmare sire, Sea The Stars added three more Group 1 winners to his record, bringing his total to 10 and further reinforcing his influence on modern pedigrees.
Siyouni will again head the stallion roster at Haras de Bonneval in France. His fee for 2026 will be €150,000, a 25% reduction on this year.
In 2025, his daughter Zarigana won the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches while Flight finished runner-up in the 1000 Guineas. His international success was spearheaded by Grade 2 winner Bellezza in the USA and Group 2 winner Shin Emperor in Dubai, while his two-year-old crop included Group 1-placed Narissa.
Zarak will remain at €80,000. He has been responsible for 12 Group 1 horses to date, with 2025 additions including Grade 2 winner Laurelin, second in the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, and Campacite, runner-up in the Group 1 Critérium International.
Highest yearling price
Zarak also achieved his highest yearling price to date this year when a filly out of Prudente fetched €1.1 million at the Arqana August Sale.
This spring saw the arrival of the first foals by champion three-year-old Vadeni and Group 2-winning miler Erevann. Both horses have been well supported by breeders in their first two seasons at stud, covering three-figure books each year.
Vadeni - a record-breaking winner of the Prix du Jockey Club and the Eclipse Stakes - will stand at a fee of €15,000 next season. Erevann - a son of Dubawi out of Siyouni’s three-time Group 1-winning daughter Ervedya - will remain at €8,000.
