GOFFS have release the catalogue for the Yorton Sale on September 10th, with sons of Grade 1 winners Stormy Ireland and Utopie Des Bordes among the 39 lots.

The select sale of two-year-olds was launched in 2019 and has since produced 13 blacktype horses, two of them Grade 1 winners.

A French-bred son of Doctor Dino topped last year’s sale at £105,000 and there is a strong French influence in the latest catalogue, featuring the progeny of Choeur du Nord, Clovis du Berlais, Masked Marvel and Nirvana du Berlais.

Former Yorton resident Blue Bresil is the sire of the first lot, a gelding out of Grade 1 winner Utopie Des Bordes, herself a half-sister to Kopek Des Bordes. Two lots later, there’s a Nathaniel gelding out of another Grade 1-winning mare in Stormy Ireland.

Fillies include one by Masked Marvel closely related to Teahupoo, and another by Blue Bresil out of multiple graded winner Mount Ida.

David Futter, owner of Yorton Stud in Wales, where the sale is held, commented: “This sale has developed into a leading outlet for NH two-year-olds off the back of continued success on the track and in subsequent sale rings, and the timing could not be better with the demand for two-year-olds now rapidly gaining traction.

“We launched this sale in 2019 on the concept of getting NH horses into training earlier and to see the UK and Ireland launch new three-year-old hurdle programmes, along with two-year-old sessions in the major store sales, only bolsters this sale’s growing presence on the sales calendar.”
